Take Control of Your Newsfeed
It's time to stop the guessing game, and start getting relevant results
Are you fed up with algorithms telling you what you want to see rather than the other way around? So were we, which is why we did something about it.
For those of you unfamiliar with how newsfeeds work on most social media and content sharing sites today, they take a best-guess approach of what you might want to see by tracking what you've viewed in the past. You've probably experienced this before: you watch one or two videos having to do with a specific subject, then all of a sudden everything shown to you revolves around that subject. Sometimes the tracking approach will work out, but other times it is just a huge annoyance and your feed will be overrun with irrelevant content.
SoulShare takes guessing out of the equation. Instead, we let you directly tell us what you're interested in seeing, and you're newsfeed will be updated accordingly
Another issue is most of these sites, if not all, fail to account for peoples' desire to view a given interest, or collection of interests, changing at any given time. For example, let's say you're both an artist and a musician and are particularly interested in content about painting, ceramics, drumming and guitar; assuming your newsfeed is successful in showing you relevant content, you will see some mix of all of the above. What if, on a given day though, you're mainly just interested in content about art; you'll be able to stay up-to-date on painting and ceramics, but you'll still have to scroll past any content about music. Now take the same example, but mix in several more subjects and all of the people you're following unrelated to art; suddenly the amount of scrolling you'll have to do to find something about art becomes much more significant.
SoulShare solves this problem by allowing you to create as many specialized newsfeeds as you like. For each feed, you can specify what topics and people you'd like to follow, and it will be saved to the left of your home page along with your other feeds that you can switch between at any time.
You can also get even more detailed if you like by filtering out the type of content you're interested in seeing (i.e. videos, audio, images, literature).
